Colorado Springs police arrest suspect in domestic violence investigation | Crime and Justice

A follow-up investigation into a serious case of domestic violence has led to the arrest of 34-year-old Michael Fricke.

On Wednesday, officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department in Stetson Hills concluded an investigation that was initiated the previous evening by three officers regarding a reported domestic violence attack.

The officers identified Fricke and found him entering an apartment. They then set up a restricted area around the apartment and tried several times to contact Fricke.

When officials received no response, special units, including police dogs and negotiators, were dispatched.

According to law enforcement, the negotiating unit was able to establish telephone contact with Fricke, which led to a peaceful surrender.

Fricke was arrested without incident at the El Paso County Jail and faces domestic violence charges.
