2nd July

There were no vehicle thefts, but one vehicle was seized that day.

Stolen Handgun: At 9 a.m., officers were dispatched to a local hotel located near 31910 Gateway Center Blvd. for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The reporter stated that his windshield had been smashed and an Italian leather satchel and a 9mm handgun had been stolen.

Teen Rivalry: At 5:30 p.m., a teen rivalry reached a climax in the 2200 block of S. Star Lake Road. The mothers of one of the two boys grabbed the other child by the face and neck, allegedly in an attempt to break up the confrontation. The mothers of both juveniles talked and agreed to keep their sons away from each other.

Officer stabbed with needle: At 5:30 p.m., officers attempted to arrest a man for trespassing at 1901 S. 324th St. During the arrest attempt, the man resisted arrest and had to be taken to the ground. During the incident, a needle came out of the man’s pocket and possibly stabbed the officer. The officer was treated as a precaution. The suspect was taken to St. Francis Hospital for self-inflicted bite wounds and subsequently booked into jail.

3rd of July

That day, three car thefts occurred and two vehicles were confiscated.

Driver struck: At around 3:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Kitts Corner Apartments in the 1200 block of South 336th Street. The victim, a Lyft driver, was struck in the face because he refused to transport more passengers than his vehicle could accommodate.

4th of July

A vehicle theft occurred and two vehicles were confiscated that day.

Hidden in his anus: At around 11 a.m., police were called to the 34000 block of Hoyt Road SW for a shoplifting incident. The male shoplifter was arrested and stated he swallowed the stolen item after hiding it in his anus. He was arrested but refused to be booked into jail because he first had to be medically evaluated at a hospital.

Shoplifter throws knife: At around 1 p.m., officers responded to the 28000 block of Military Road South for a report of shoplifting with a knife. Officers said the shoplifter threw a knife at the reporting person and then fled on foot.

5th July

That day, three car thefts occurred and two vehicles were confiscated.

Armed Robbery: Around midnight, officers responded to the 35000 block of 16th Avenue South for an armed robbery call. The victim called and stated that a suspect entered her residence and then robbed her at gunpoint.

Brick backfire: At 1:30 a.m., officers on South 304th Street were notified of a woman who had thrown a brick through a window while attempting to enter the building. When police arrived, the woman was bleeding at the front of the house and screaming.

Venmo Scam: At 8 a.m., officers received a report of fraud in the 1900 block of SW Campus Drive. The victim stated that he and his wife responded to a Facebook ad to rent a house. The suspect sent the victim paperwork to fill out and the two addresses to look at. After completing the paperwork, the victim sent $1,150 via Venmo to the suspect, who immediately stopped responding. The victims attempted to stop the payment, but it was too late.

Domestic Violence: At 1:30 p.m. on 21st Avenue SW, officers were dispatched to stop a violent attack between two adults. The victim reported the suspect attempted to hit her in the head with a hard water bottle. The victim was able to lock herself and her children in her bedroom, but feared she would have been attacked if she had not done so. She called 911 and was unharmed.

Escaped Felon: At approximately 2 p.m., an officer made contact with an arrested subject in the 30800 block of Pacific Highway South who was consuming drugs in a vehicle. It was discovered that the arrestee had an unconfirmed warrant out of Olympia for escape from custody and assault with a deadly weapon. The arrestee was detained with double-locked and properly fitted handcuffs.

July 6

There were no vehicle thefts, but one vehicle was seized that day.

Residential Structure Fire: At approximately 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to a large residential structure fire in the 800 block of SW 312th Street. Upon arrival, the east side of the residence was engulfed in flames. Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.

Vodka Bottle Assault: At 2:21 a.m., officers arrived in the 300 block of 14th Avenue SW to break up a fight. Officers immediately found a man with bleeding facial skin. Officers made contact with the victim’s daughter, who said her father had been involved in a fight with two women. At some point, a vodka bottle was broken and struck the man in the face.

Firearms Stolen: At approximately 9 a.m., officers responded to a report of a commercial burglary on Pacific Highway South. The theft involved four stolen firearms.

Assault for infidelity: At 2 p.m., officers received a report of two women pushing and hitting each other in the 2400 block of South Star Lake Road. Upon arrival, officers spoke with one of the women involved in the altercation. She said she caught the other woman performing oral sex on her boyfriend and captured it on video.

7th of July

A vehicle theft occurred and two vehicles were confiscated that day.

Gun theft: At approximately 1:15 a.m., officers received a report of a firearm stolen in the 32100 block of 25th Avenue South. The owner of the gun stated that his car was parked, but when he returned, the car was damaged and his gun was missing. There are no suspects, no video evidence, and all leads have been exhausted.

Dog attacks pregnant woman: At approximately 4:45 a.m., officers in the 2100 block of SW 352nd Street received a report of a victim bitten by a dog. The victim is pregnant and claimed a large black dog attacked her, injuring her hands, left leg and chin. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment.

Gun Shooting: Between 3 and 6 a.m., police were dispatched to 1201 S. 336th St. to intervene in a fight between an adult male, an adult female, and a juvenile male. The adult male was shot and was quickly treated and transported by paramedics.

Hit and Run: At 7 p.m., officers responded to the corner of 20th Avenue South and South 312th Street for a crash involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian. The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. The victim sustained injuries and was transported to St. Francis Hospital.

Reckless arson: At approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to a fire set by a man at a convenience store at 31014 Pacific Hwy. S. The fire was extinguished with the help of firefighters and the man was taken to Score Jail.

Hammer Attack: At approximately 11:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of SW 319th Lane for a report of a woman using a hammer to break car windows. Before they arrived, the woman ran out the back door, and due to the time delay, the sniffer dog trail could not be initiated.
