TURLOCK — Police have now released body camera footage from an April incident in Turlock in which officers shot and killed a suspect.

The incident occurred on April 10 in the 900 block of Vermont Avenue.

The officers had responded to a report that a suspicious person had looked into vehicles. That suspect — later identified as 37-year-old Turlock resident Corey Pollard — then fled when an officer attempted to approach him, police said.

When another officer attempted to stop Pollard, police allege he “presented an object in a threatening manner.”

An officer then shot at Pollard, hitting him in the right shoulder. He was taken to the hospital and taken to prison after being medically cleared.

Police described the item Pollard allegedly pulled out as a black piece of plastic.

The two officers involved in the incident were also named by the department: Officer Juan Arroyo, a three-year Turlock PD veteran, and Officer Donna Anthieny, a five-year veteran.

Pollard still faces charges of resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer.
