Man was arrested 30 years ago for alleged child sexual abuse

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Charles Eldon Richardson, 50, of Somerset, was arrested on a Pulaski Grand Jury warrant for alleged sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old.

Richardson was arrested without incident at his residence in the early hours of Wednesday morning and served with the charging warrant. According to the sheriff’s office, the charges stem from an investigation led by Jay Picard, crimes against children detective for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press release, the investigation began after the alleged victim, now an adult, came forward and alleged that Richardson sexually abused her when she was 10 years old. The alleged assault reportedly occurred in 1997 in Pulaski County.
