Possible water pipe burst in southeast Atlanta is being investigated

ATLANTA, Georgia (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta Watershed Management crews are investigating after work by a private contractor is believed to have caused a water main to burst.

It happened at 2995 Jonesboro Road.

Watershed officials said a gas line may also have been affected.

According to the department’s outage map, the possible break could cause a temporary interruption in power to residents and businesses in the area.

Officials said repair work could not begin until the area was deemed safe.

The possible break is just coming a day after the city government said more sensors and jobs would be created to prevent future pipe bursts.
