911 call describes crime scene in Fort Lauderdale where two were found dead – NBC 6 South Florida

A new emergency call provides information about the incidents in a Fort Lauderdale apartment where two people were found dead on Tuesday.

Fort Lauderdale police officials said officers rushed to the residence in the 1400 block of Northwest 3rd Court shortly before 11 a.m. and found the bodies of the two people.

In a 911 call released Wednesday, a man who apparently knew the victims described going to the apartment to check on the victims’ well-being.

“I just got to his house, my sister went upstairs to knock on the door and she said she saw blood coming from under the front door,” the man told the dispatcher. “So I got out of the car, went upstairs and there was blood coming out of the door and they weren’t answering their phones.”

The dispatcher tried to get more information as the man’s concern grew.

“I don’t know what’s going on,” he said. “I’m very hysterical right now, ma’am, I don’t know what to do, I’m just in shock after seeing this, I hope it’s nothing serious.”

Moments later, a woman can be heard on the phone.

“Blood was running out of the door, onto the doormat, blood. I said, ‘Uh-uh, that’s not right,'” she said.

The man then calls for an ambulance.

“Please tell them to hurry up… oh God,” he said when police arrived a short time later.

Police did not release the identities of the two people found dead or how they died.

However, in a brief statement on Wednesday, officials said they believed it was a “limited incident” and that they were not looking for a suspect.

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
