2 dead, 1 injured in head-on collision in western Phoenix

A head-on collision near a West Phoenix Two people were killed and another person was injured at the intersection.

The accident occurred on July 10 shortly after 10:30 a.m. near 59th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Phoenix police say when officers arrived at the scene, they found that two vehicles were involved in the accident, a red car and a taxi.

Two people in the red car and one person in the taxi were taken to a hospital, where two of them died. The third person is still in the hospital with unknown injuries.

The victims were not identified.

Due to the investigation, traffic on McDowell Road is closed in this area.
