Vermont man arrested after investigation into Sheldon shooting

A Vermont man was arrested Wednesday in the investigation of a shooting reported earlier this year. Vermont State Police said they were first called to Kittell Road in Sheldon on March 4 for a shooting incident. At that time, officers encountered Kyle Jacobs, 45, of Montgomery, who told police he had been shot by two people. Further investigation into the case led police to conclude that Jacobs also fired a gun during the altercation. He was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault and making false statements. Jacobs appeared before a judge to answer the charges and was released on conditions, according to police.

At that time, police encountered 45-year-old Kyle Jacobs of Montgomery, who told police that two people had shot at him.
