Suspected crossbow killer whose brother murdered a stranger in a rage-fueled attack

As it turns out, Kyle Clifford, the suspect in the crossbow murders of three women, served in the army but dropped out and became a security guard.

The 26-year-old joined the Queen’s Dragoon Guards in 2019 but left the force three years later despite being unconscious, having difficulty adjusting to the disciplined lifestyle.

He took several low-paying jobs and eventually found work as a security guard in north London.

Lifelong prison sentence

His older brother Bradley, one of three children, is currently serving a life sentence after murdering a moped rider who damaged his car.

Six years ago, when Bradley was 23, he chased 18-year-old Soban Khan and 19-year-old Jahshua Francis and deliberately mowed them down after they threw a bottle at his Ford Mustang following an altercation outside a bar in Enfield.

Both men were thrown into the air by the collision and Mr Khan was subsequently punched by Clifford as he lay fatally injured on the ground.

Imprisoned for life

He denied charges of murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent, but after a trial at the Old Bailey, the plumber was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. A judge told him he must serve a minimum term of 23 years before he could apply for parole.

Neighbors described Kyle as “fairly normal” and unremarkable and said he never showed violent tendencies.

He went to school in Enfield and returned to the area after leaving the army. Locals said he was quiet but popular in the settlement where he lived with his family.

He was reportedly in a relationship with Louise Hunt, but the couple recently separated.
