Barbour County man killed in crash in Pike County

23pikecountyA Louisville man has died in a car accident in Pike County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the accident occurred just before 7 a.m. on Alabama 130 near the 5 mile marker, about 6 miles east of Banks.

According to officials, 66-year-old James Otis McCray was fatally injured when the 2000 Honda CR-V he was driving left the road, struck a traffic sign and rolled over before entering a river.

According to ALEA, McCray was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. McCray was pronounced dead at the scene.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the accident.
