OSWEGO – At 1:57 p.m. EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located above Mexico Point State Park, or near Sandy Island Beach
State Park, moving northeast at 30 mph.

DANGER…Tornado.

SOURCE…Rotation indicated by radar.

IMPACT… The flying debris will be dangerous for those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Damage to trees is
likely.

Affected locations include…
Sandy Island Beach State Park, Pulaski, Selkirk Shores State Park,
Mexico Point State Park, Richland, Mexico, Orwell, Sandy Creek,
Lacona and Altmar.

This includes Interstate 81 between exits 34 and 39.

INSTRUCTIONS: COVER YOURSELF NOW! Move to a basement or interior room on the lowest level
floor of a solid building. Avoid windows. If you are outside, in a
in a mobile home or vehicle, move to the nearest solid shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Heavy rains may hide this tornado. Do not wait to see or hear the tornado
