NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The recent death of a woman at a Norfolk senior living home has been ruled a homicide – and her daughter and grandson are the suspects, police say.

Norfolk police announced Wednesday that the medical examiner ruled the death of 81-year-old Cleo A. Loizides a homicide. She was pronounced dead after officers were called to an unresponsive patient at the Commonwealth Senior Living facility on Poplar Hall Drive shortly before midnight on June 30.

Following the verdict, investigators charged 53-year-old Heather A. Cummings of Hobart, Indiana, and 24-year-old Clifton L. Cummings of Norfolk with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

They are currently being held without bail in the Norfolk City Jail.
