21-year-old woman arrested as part of investigation into drunk driving

A 21-year-old Modesto woman was arrested for drunk driving during a traffic stop early Saturday morning for traffic violations.

Kalina Barrientez, 21, of Modesto was stopped in her Toyota Highlander by Sergeant Aaron Pinon in the area of ​​Whitmore Avenue and Baldwin Road at 1:40 a.m. Sergeant Pinon smelled alcohol on Barrientez and initiated a DUI investigation, which led to her arrest.

Barrientez was arrested for drunk driving and provided a breath sample that showed she had more than twice the alcohol level in her blood that an adult would drive. Barrientez was taken to the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
