Two people arrested following investigations into drug and weapons offences in Malta

MALTA, NY (NEWS10) — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of two people in connection with a drug and firearms investigation. Jason Brundige, 50, of Saratoga Springs, and Keella Weaver, 39, of Malta, were both charged with two counts of third-degree unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

On July 3, police obtained a search warrant for the Roosevelt Motel in Malta as part of a lengthy investigation into the illegal sale of narcotics and weapons in Saratoga County. The sheriff’s office was assisted in the operation by the Saratoga Springs Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).


Brundige and Weaver were taken into custody as a result of the search. Brundige was additionally charged with the following offenses:

  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree
  • Third degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Criminal possession of a firearm

Brundige and Weaver were arraigned in Malta Town Court. Brundige was subsequently remanded to the Saratoga County Jail without bail, while Weaver was remanded in custody.
