The Racine County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to avoid Cliffside Park due to the ongoing situation.

AT THREE. WE’RE FOLLOWING BREAKING NEWS FROM RACINE COUNTY. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS WARNING PEOPLE TO AVOID THE CLIFFSIDE PARK AREA. THAT AREA IS SHOWN ON YOUR SCREEN HERE. THE RACINE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE JUST ISSUED AN EMERGENCY TEXT ALERT FOR RESIDENTS OF MAKENA ROAD AND CALEDONIA BETWEEN SIX MILE AND SEVEN MILE ROADS. MATT SALEMME JUST ARRIVED ON THE SCENE A FEW MOMENTS AGO AND IS MILWAUKEE’S ONLY NEWS HELPER. MATT, YOU’RE GIVING US THIS EXCLUSIVE LOOK AT THE CRIME SCENE FROM NEWS HELPER 12. WHAT DO YOU SEE FROM YOUR VIEWPOINT? SO HERE IS THE SETUP SITE RIGHT OFF MISSION ROAD AT THE ENTRANCE TO CLIFFSIDE PARK. CLIFFSIDE PARK IS A PRETTY HEAVILY WOODED AREA. IT’S ALSO A CAMPGROUND. YOU SEE ALL THE CAMPERS SET UP THERE AT THE NORTH END OF THE PARK. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF PRIVATE HOMES AND YOU CAN SEE ANOTHER GROUP OF POLICE OFFICERS PARKED AT THE DRIVEWAY OF ONE OF THOSE HOMES THERE. WE ALSO SPOT THEM IN A FIELD AT THE NORTH END OF THE PARK. YOU SEE THE SMALL STRIP OF WATER RIGHT THERE AT THE NORTH END OF THAT STRIP OF WATER, A SUSPECT IS SITTING ON THE GROUND, AND A GROUP OF POLICE OFFICERS ARE STANDING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A PILE OF ROCKS, TALKING TO THE SUSPECT. WHAT THE CONVERSATION IS ABOUT WE ARE NOT SURE AT THIS TIME, BUT WE KNOW THAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT THAT. THAT THE PERSON THEY ARE TALKING TO RIGHT NOW IS RIGHT IN THAT AREA ON THE NORTH SIDE OF CLIFFSIDE PARK. SO THESE POLICE OFFICERS DOWN HERE ARE IN THE STORAGE AREA AND ARE COMMUNICATED WITH THE GROUP UP ON THE NORTH SIDE. The Racine County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to avoid Cliffside Park due to the ongoing situation.

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office issued a public alert just before 11 a.m. Wednesday asking residents to avoid the Cliffside Park area until further notice. For residents of Michna Road between 6 Mile Road and 7 Mile Road, the sheriff’s office is telling them to shelter in the lowest floor of their home and stay away from doors and windows. The alert also warns of possible road closures and traffic delays in the area. The reason for the alert and the nature of the situation are currently unknown. This is a developing story. The Racine County Sheriff’s Office issued a public alert shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday, asking residents to avoid the Cliffside Park area until further notice.

Residents of Michna Road between 6 Mile Road and 7 Mile Road were ordered by the Sheriff’s Office to seek shelter in the lowest floors of their homes and stay away from doors and windows.

The warning also warns of possible road closures and traffic delays in the area.
