Police: Suspect sought in dog kidnapping in southeast DC

Police are asking for help in locating a nine-week-old puppy that was stolen from its owner during an attempted sale in southeast DC on Monday.

A 9-month-old black and white American Bully was kidnapped during a robbery in southeast DC on July 8.

Police are asking for help in locating a puppy that was stolen from its owner during an attempted sale in southeast DC on Monday.

At around 9:30 p.m., police said, the victim met with a potential buyer for the nine-week-old American Bully dog ​​in the 2800 block of Texas Avenue in Southeast.

During price negotiations, police said, the buyer pulled out a gun and ran away with the dog, which has black and white fur and was not wearing a collar at the time of the theft.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 202-727-9099 or text the tip line at 50411.

They also encourage residents of the district to use designated Safe Exchange Zones in police stations across the city when meeting unknown persons to complete sales transactions through online platforms.
