Funeral planned for Eastanollee teenager killed in church bus crash

A community reeling from the sudden, tragic loss of a young teenager now has a chance to say goodbye. The funeral service for Theodore “Teddy” Bone is set for Tuesday, July 16.

The 15-year-old from Eastanollee was fatally injured on June 29 when a suspected drunk driver crashed into the church bus he was riding in. The crash on GA 365 South in Demorest left Teddy brain dead. He was taken off life support on July 3, at which point his family announced they would donate his organs.

Teddy was participating in a youth mission project at River Point Community Church in Demorest when the accident occurred. His death sent shockwaves through the community, with grief compounded by the circumstances of the crash.

Barry Thomas Clark, 64, of Hartwell was charged with involuntary manslaughter. He has been released from jail on bail.

The Bone family will receive family and friends during the viewing at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in Toccoa on Monday, July 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home is located at 90 South Pond Street in Toccoa.

Teddy’s funeral is scheduled for July 16 at 4 p.m. at Tom’s Creek Baptist Church in Martin, Georgia.
