1 dead in traffic accident on I-90 near O’Hare

Early Wednesday morning, a human casualty occurred in an accident on I-90 near the Norwood Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

At around 4:30 a.m., troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes near Cumberland Avenue, Illinois State Police said.

One of the people involved in the accident died at the scene, state police said. The person’s age and gender were not immediately known. No other injuries were reported.

As of 7:15 a.m., all traffic was diverted to Canfield Avenue.
