North Olmsted police officer almost hit at accident scene

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WOIO) – A North Olmsted police officer was nearly hit by a car at the scene of an accident Tuesday afternoon.

Det. Lt. Matthew Beck of the North Olmsted Police Department said officers were investigating a three-vehicle crash at the corner of Clague Road and Macbeth Avenue that occurred around 4 p.m. One of the vehicles had rolled over onto its roof.

While the road was closed, a female driver drove past a marked patrol car that was blocking the road and nearly collided with the officer, Det. Lt. Beck said.

The driver was summoned to the scene of the accident.

One of the three drivers involved in the accident was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
