1 person died after incident with Buffalo police officers

Buffalo police say they are investigating a police-involved shooting that occurred near Kensington and Poultney Avenues.

BUFFALO, NY – A man has died following an incident involving Buffalo police officers.

Buffalo police say they are investigating a police-involved shooting that occurred shortly after midnight near Kensington and Poultney Avenues.

Police have not released details about what happened before the shooting. 2 On Your Side is working to independently confirm the details of who fired the weapons.

Investigators said one person was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead.

A 2 On Your Side photojournalist at the scene said police were seen searching for evidence on the ground and in nearby bushes and grass.

According to official information, the homicide squad and the investigative authority are conducting separate investigations into the incident.

The New York State Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigations has also been notified.
