Security guard pleads not guilty in case of rape of disabled teenager

KOTA BARU: A security officer pleaded not guilty in a local court on Wednesday to two counts of raping a disabled, short girl in a house on February 10 and 11 this year.

M Pikri Mohamed, 43, made this plea after the charges were read out before Judge Zulkifli Abdullah.

He was accused of raping his 15-year-old victim, who is also his neighbour, at a house in Selising, Pasir Puteh, at 5pm on February 10.

He was also accused of raping the victim on February 11 at the same place and time.

Both charges were brought under Section 376(2)(k) of the Penal Code (Act No. 574), which is punishable under Section 376(2) of the same Act and provides for a maximum sentence of up to 30 years and flogging upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Edabayu Subhan represented the prosecution, while the accused was represented by his lawyer Muhammad Zulfaqar Al Basysyar Saharrudin.

The court granted the accused bail of 15,000 RM for both charges in one surety bond, with the additional condition that he appear at a nearby police station once a month and not disturb the victim.

The court has set August 12 as the date for mentioning the case and producing the documents. – Bernama
