Pedestrian jumped onto the hood of a car before being hit and killed by a truck

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office said a pedestrian was struck and killed in Gaffney late Tuesday night.

The coroner said that at about 11:23 p.m., a woman was lying near the centerline of the house at 1125 North Logan Street when she was struck by a Ford pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer.

According to officials, the pedestrian had jumped onto the hood of another car a few minutes earlier, which had stopped because she was standing on the road.

According to the coroner, a video from a nearby store confirmed that the pedestrian slipped from the hood of the car onto the road before she was hit by the truck. She died at the scene of the accident.

The pedestrian was identified as 21-year-old Carson Melinda Wofford.
