Shreveport police respond to three shootings in less than 8 hours

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KSLA) – Shreveport police were called to three separate shootings in less than eight hours between the night of Tuesday, July 9, and early Wednesday morning.

The first incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Union Avenue and W. 74th Street. Officials say a man was standing outside when an unidentified vehicle drove by, firing a weapon. He was struck in the leg and upper body and taken to a hospital in a private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries. No suspects were arrested.

The second shooting occurred at 12:22 a.m. Wednesday on Westover Road. Officials say a woman heard gunshots, then a bullet went through a wall and struck her in the leg. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A white vehicle was seen fleeing the scene, according to police.

The latest shooting occurred at 1:33 a.m. Wednesday at the Raceway gas station on Hearne Avenue. Police say a suspect demanded money from the clerk before shooting him in the leg. The clerk was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

All three shootings are under investigation.
