8 MISSING IN FERRY ACCIDENT IN MYANMAR

YANGON, July 10 (Bernama-Xinhua) — Eight people, including three students, are missing after a ferry with 16 passengers on board capsized on a river in Yangon, Myanmar, an official with a rescue organization told Xinhua on Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 8:10 a.m. local time on Wednesday when the ferry collided with a parked ship and capsized, the official said.

Eight people were rescued, the other eight are still missing, he said.

Rescue efforts to find the missing persons are ongoing, he added.
