Jon Bon Jovi’s mother Carol Bongiovi dies at the age of 83

Jon Bon Jovi‘s mother, Carol A. Bongiovidied three days before her 84th birthday.

In a statement issued with People by Bon Jovi, 62, on behalf of his family, the music icon paid tribute to his mother’s many qualities. “Our mother was a force to be reckoned with, her spirit and can-do attitude shaped this family,” said Bon Jovi. “We will miss her very much.”

The outlet reported that Carol, who was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania, died on Tuesday, July 9, at Monmouth Medical Center in New York, New Jersey.
