Texas Sonic manager Daniel Shrewsbury is said to have been killed by a customer after getting into an argument over counterfeit money

A “caring” Sonic employee in Texas was reportedly gunned down on Sunday, just days before his 34th birthday, after an argument with two customers at the store’s drive-thru.

According to KSAT, Daniel Shrewsbury was working his shift at the San Antonio location when he confronted the sneaky customers around 9:30 p.m.

One of the customers is accused of shooting Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury fled into the restaurant and was later pronounced dead inside the store.

On Monday, San Antonio police released photos of two customers at Sonic who had an argument with Shrewsbury before he was killed – one wearing a black T-shirt and gold chain, the other wearing a white floral sundress.

No arrests were made and the names of the suspects were not released.

Shrewsbury’s family believes his argument with the suspects stemmed from the two trying to buy groceries with counterfeit money, the outlet said.

“When my brother went there and confronted them about the counterfeit money, he was shot,” said Jojo Shrewsbury, the grieving younger brother of the Sonic employee.

“He was a really good brother, not just to me, but to everyone.”

Jojo Shrewsbury said his brother, who was less than a week away from celebrating his 34th birthday when he was fatally shot, was a “role model” for him and many others.

“He’s not just known as a Sonic employee. He’s more than that,” he told KSAT, fighting back tears.

A witness who was in the drive-thru heard three gunshots and said an employee ran to his car to tell them that an employee had been shot.

“I was sitting in line talking on the phone. And I heard what sounded like the first shot. But I didn’t really register that was it,” the witness told KENS5. “And then I heard two more shots after that and I thought, ‘Okay, something’s happening here.’ I tried to get out of there, I was scared.”

“Poor girl, I feel for her,” the witness added, referring to the helpless worker. “She came up to me and asked me if I wanted my order. That an employee had been shot. And she just had a completely shocked look on her face. And I just said, ‘No, no, I’m fine, I’m just trying to get out of here.'”

The Post contacted the San Antonio Police Department.

Shrewsbury’s sister, Jazmin Robinson, wrote in an emotional Facebook post on Tuesday that her brother did not deserve to go like that and called the suspects cowards.

“You took my brother without hesitation, without caring for his family or loved ones. We live in a sad world, ladies and gentlemen. I never thought I would lose my brother in this way,” she wrote.

“I love you, big brother, forever and ever. They took your body, but they can’t have your soul. The memories of our time together will stay with me forever. I will never forget what an incredibly hard-working brother you were.”

Shrewsbury was the eldest of three siblings.

When he wasn’t working hard, he played video games, his family told the outlet.

On Monday, a memorial was erected in front of the entrance to Sonic.
