Alleged rapist from Secunda dies in prison

A 64-year-old man who appeared before the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on 13 June died in his prison cell at Bethal Prison on 27 June.

He allegedly had a heart attack.

The man was arrested last year and charged with possession of pornography and rape after allegedly raping a young girl at a local private elementary school.

He has been in custody since his arrest.
