Lehigh Valley scores 5 unanswered points but falls to Buffalo | Sports

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Lehigh Valley and Buffalo opened their series Tuesday with a morning game at Coca-Cola Park. The IronPigs tried to mount a late rally but fell just short 7-5.

Through the first two innings, the Bisons took the lead. A two-run home run in the first inning followed by a three-run home run in the second inning gave the Bisons a 5-0 lead.

They added two more runs in the third inning to make it 7-0. It wasn’t until the fifth inning that the IronPigs got closer to the goal.

Trailing 7-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Darick Hall scored on a line drive for Cal Stevenson. They added another run to get within 2, but couldn’t get any closer.
