WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF REPORT/Warsaw man charged after ATV crash in Gainesville – Video News Service

The MPs reacted to the report of a
ATV accident with injuries on July 1, 2024.

Upon arrival, officers found a man about 20 feet down a ravine. The man had a suspected broken leg. The Wyoming County Rope Rescue Team responded, freed the man from the ravine, and brought him back to the road. The man was identified as Emmanuel E. Martina, 22, of Warsaw.

Officers noticed that Martina was exhibiting general signs of intoxication while speaking with him. Further investigation revealed that Martina was allegedly intoxicated while driving the ATV north on Dutton Road before crashing into the guardrail on the east side of the road.

Martina was arrested and charged with drunk driving and other vehicle and traffic violations. A chemical
The sample was secured by Martina in the back of the ambulance before being airlifted to
Strong Memorial Hospital for his injuries.

Martina is due back in Gainesville City Court on July 22, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 4:02 p.m., a Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a vehicle stop
Stopped for speeding in zone. Deputy observed alleged signs of drug impairment while speaking to the driver of the vehicle, Stephen Thompson, 47, of Attica, NY, who had a revoked NYS driver’s license.
Driving license suspended due to a conviction for driving under the influence of drugs.

Thompson was asked to take a standardized field sobriety test, which he failed poorly. Thompson underwent an evaluation by a drug recognition expert. According to the drug recognition expert, Thompson was allegedly impaired by drugs and was unsafe to operate a motor vehicle.

Thompson was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
Offense: Driving under the influence of drugs, aggravated driving without a license in the first degree and other traffic law violations.

Thompson was arraigned in Warsaw Village Court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail without bail due to prior felony convictions. Thompson’s next appearance in Warsaw Village Court is July 22, 2024.

John Smithers, 62, of Buffalo, NY, was arrested by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.
Smithers was arrested by Lackawanna Police on other
Charges were filed and then handed over to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office after
Summonses for their charges.

Smithers, who had previously been arrested by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office on charges of theft from office and criminal tampering, had been tried and released several times since his initial arrest, but never appeared for his next scheduled court date.

Smithers was charged by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office with bail jumping. He was arraigned in Wyoming County Superior Court and held in the Wyoming County Jail on both charges.

On June 21, 2024, Wyoming County officials responded to the intersection of Rt. 77 and
Rt. 354 in the town of Bennington, due to a motorcycle/truck accident. After an investigation
Deputies say the pickup truck in question had a suspended NYS registration due to
Insurance process.

The owner and operator, Jeanne Darsow, 53, of Lockport, NY, was arrested for operating
with suspended registration and released with an admission ticket. Darsow is said to be
Bennington Town Court at a later date.

On June 27, 2024 at approximately 7:59 p.m., a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office deputy
conducted a traffic stop for a speeding violation. The deputy observed the driver of the vehicle, Aaron Youngman, 34, of Penfield, NY, who allegedly exhibited signs of alcohol impairment.

Youngman was asked to take a standardized sobriety test, which he failed poorly.
Youngman refused to take a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol content.

Youngman was arrested and charged with DUI and other traffic law violations. Youngman was arraigned in Attica Village Court, where his driver’s license was suspended for refusing to submit to a chemical test. Youngman was released on his own bond and is scheduled to appear in Attica Village Court on August 5, 2024.

On June 25, 2024, at approximately 12:50 a.m., a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office deputy
was stationed on West Buffalo Street in the Village of Warsaw when a vehicle
was observed driving westbound with a suspended license.

A vehicle was stopped near North Maple Street and the driver was identified as Mazed A. Oney, 34, of Depew, NY.

Following an on-scene investigation, Oney was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. Oney was cited at the curb and released on a summons. He is scheduled to appear in Warsaw Village Court at a later date.

Harley M. Felerski, 22, of Warsaw, NY, was arrested and charged with petty theft after committing a shoplifting incident.
Complaint filed with Walmart in the city of Warsaw on June 24, 2024.

Felerski reportedly hid various makeup items valued at approximately $203.18 without paying for them.

Felerski was charged with petty theft and received a summons. He must return to the
