Two charged in alleged kidnapping of 77-year-old man

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two people have been indicted on multiple counts in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a 77-year-old man earlier this year, the Niagara County Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday.

Niagara resident Gregory Perry, 31, and Niagara Falls resident Ashley McMillen, 35, are accused of kidnapping and robbing Rodney Haynes, Sr., 77, whose disappearance was first reported on March 26.

Perry is charged with first-degree kidnapping, second-degree robbery, aggravated criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child. He is also charged with an additional count of second-degree criminal contempt in connection with an alleged incident with the same victim that occurred on July 29, 2023. Additionally, he is charged with fourth-degree witness tampering and second degree criminal contempt. for an alleged incident that occurred on April 10.

McMillen is charged with first-degree kidnapping, second-degree theft and endangering the welfare of a child.

Perry was booked into the Niagara County Jail. Bail was set at $100,000 cash, $200,000 surety and $1 million partially secured for McMillen.
