AT THE TIME IT IS NOT CLEAR WHAT CAUSED THE SHOOTING, BUT THE POLICE ARE TELL US THAT AT THE TIME NO ONE WAS HIT, THE PERSON WITH THE GUN IS ON THE RUN. THERE IS NO ONE IN CAPTAIN. BUT THE POLICE SAY THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE LOOKING FOR. Milwaukee police are searching for a gunman who exchanged shots with officers. It happened just before 7:30 p.m. near Hopkins and Locust streets. Police said investigators saw a person pointing a handgun at another person. When they approached the person and identified themselves as police officers, the armed person and officers exchanged shots at each other. Police said it does not appear anyone was hit. The armed person ran from the scene, but police said they know who they are looking for. Milwaukee police are searching for a gunman who exchanged shots with police officers.

It happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. near Hopkins Street and Locust Street.

According to police reports, officers saw a person pointing a gun at another person. When they approached the person and identified themselves as police officers, gunfire ensued between the armed person and the officer.

According to police, no one seems to have been hit.

The armed person fled the scene, but police said they knew who they were looking for.
