A short cooling down is coming

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Scattered rain and storms will continue into the late evening, especially in areas east of I-65. Later in the evening, thunderstorms should move out of the Cumberland Plateau. Temperatures will drop to just under 21 degrees by morning.

THROUGH THE MORNING:

The rain will clear overnight. Temperatures will fall to just over 20 degrees by morning.

The region will be drier and a little cooler on Wednesday, with highs above 25 degrees. Humidity will also drop slightly. The chance of rain in Nashville is only 20% early in the morning, so most areas will be dry on Wednesday.

THURSDAY FRIDAY:

Another heatwave will develop from Thursday. The sky will be partly cloudy, with lows of 24 degrees in the morning and highs of 32 degrees.

FIRST WEATHER WARNING – WEEKEND DAYS THROUGH NEXT WEEK:

The heat will continue to increase over the weekend, with moderate to high humidity. Maximum temperatures will be between 35 and almost 38 degrees. Temperatures above 38 degrees are expected.

There’s a realistic chance that Monday will be the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures expected to reach triple digits in Nashville.

It will remain hot on Tuesday, possibly with isolated thunderstorms.
