Adelanto man barricades himself after firing gun during domestic dispute – VVNG.com

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A 35-year-old Adelanto man was taken into custody on Sunday, July 7, 2024, after he fired a firearm during an argument with his wife and then barricaded himself inside their home.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:21 p.m. on Golden Street and prompted a response from officers at the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station.

According to the sheriff, the suspect was involved in a physical altercation with his wife. When she left the house with the child, he retrieved a handgun and fired one shot into the garage floor before retreating inside the house.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) was called in to assist. After several hours of negotiations, the suspect was identified as Fabian Guerrerosurrendered peacefully and was arrested.

A search of the home conducted under a search warrant found the pistol used in the incident along with 11 other firearms, one of which was reported stolen in Morgan Hill, California.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was under the influence of narcotics at the time of his arrest. He is currently facing charges of aggravated spousal abuse, armed conduct while under the influence of a controlled substance, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling. The suspect is being held at the High Desert Detention Center with bail set at $250,000.
