Orangeburg man dies in motorcycle accident

“He was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene from blunt force trauma,” Orangeburg County Coroner Samuetta Marshall said Tuesday.

The accident occurred at 10:05 p.m. as the motorcyclist was traveling south on US Highway 301 near Short Avenue.

According to Lance Cpl. Nick Pye of the SC Highway Patrol, the 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle veered left off the road and struck a fence.
