VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The mother of a four-month-old baby was arrested after allegedly leaving the infant unattended in her car for hours, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officials said they were called to a home in the 29900 block of Avenue 168 in Visalia around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday because a four-month-old baby had been left in a vehicle.

When they arrived, sheriff’s officers said they found that the mother had left the toddler unattended for about two hours while the car was parked and all doors and windows were closed.

Officials said the toddler was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to a local hospital. He has since been released.
