Minor raped: Minor raped and threatened by neighbours in Kolar | News from Bhopal

Bhopal: About two months ago, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a neighbour in Kolar locality. The accused allegedly threatened her that he would kill her brother if she told the incident to anyone. Police said the survivor, a Class 9 student, stated in her complaint that the accused Kuldeep Pawar, 18, lives in her neighbourhood. He is also her brother’s friend. Police said the girl claimed that on May 25, at around 2 pm, the accused told her that her sister-in-law, who lives opposite her house, was calling her. The minor trusted the accused and went to her sister-in-law’s house. However, her sister-in-law had gone out with her family members and the accused had access to her house. When the minor entered her sister-in-law’s house, the accused followed her and closed the door. He allegedly raped the minor and threatened to kill her brother when she protested. The frightened minor returned home and did not tell anyone about the incident. The accused continued to visit her home after the incident and threatened her. The minor then stopped leaving the house. Police said when the minor’s cousin visited her home and noticed a change in behaviour, she counselled her. The minor narrated her ordeal to her. The case was subsequently reported to the police. Police have registered a case of rape against the accused under IPC and POCSO Act. TNN
