BCA identifies police officer and man killed in Crookston violence | The Mighty 790 KFGO

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO/KVRR) – The man killed in a use-of-force incident in Crookston has been identified.

Christopher Junkin, 44, died on June 30 from multiple gunshot wounds.

The Minnesota BCA has determined the identities of the police officers who used force in this incident.

Crookston Police Officer Nick Fladland deployed his Taser and fired his pistol, Officer Corey Rich deployed his Taser, and Polk County Deputy April Hansen deployed a chemical irritant and her Taser.

Officers and deputies responded to reports of a fight between men outside a homeless shelter.

Junkin was belligerent toward officers and did not follow their verbal instructions.

Before Officer Fladland fired his weapon, tasers and pepper spray were used.
