Grand jury decides not to indict North Georgia councilwoman arrested on drug charges – WSB-TV Channel 2

COMMERCE, Ga. – A north Georgia city councilwoman will no longer face charges after a grand jury decided not to indict her.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced in January that 43-year-old Roshuanda Merritt was arrested after investigating allegations that she distributed marijuana from her home.

The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office confirmed this Channel 2 action news that a grand jury returned a “no score” in the case, meaning Merritt will not be indicted on the charges.

According to the city’s website, Merritt was elected as the Commercial District 5 councilwoman in late 2023.
