Missing person report for Southern Tier man last seen late Monday

New York State, on behalf of the Port Dickinson Police Department, has issued a missing person’s report for Brian J. Wood, an 85-year-old resident with Alzheimer’s disease who may need medical attention. Police say he may be traveling to Syracuse from the village north of Binghamton, about an hour southeast of Ithaca.

To update: The alert was lifted at 12:05 p.m. and Chief Scot B. McDonald of the Port Dickinson Police Department told 14850 Today that Mr. Wood had been located and was safe. His vehicle was captured by a Westchester County license plate reader and he was located by the Town of Bedford Police Department and evaluated by medical personnel. “His family is on the way to pick him up,” Chief McDonald tells us.

“He was last seen on Monday, July 8th at 5:00 p.m. on Rochelle Road in the Village of Port Dickinson, Broome County,” authorities say. “Brian was last seen driving a blue 2007 Toyota Corolla with New York license plate BLZ-8036. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, blue jeans and sneakers.”
