Two people arrested in Poughkeepsie for suspected armed robbery

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (NEWS10) — Two people from Hyde Park were arrested in connection with the investigation of a robbery, according to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. Ashley Rizzo, 25, and Keith Woodin, 41, were both charged with second-degree robbery.

On July 5 at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at 778 Main Street in Poughkeepsie. Upon arrival, police found the victim, who claimed he was threatened with a knife before two suspects took his personal belongings.


Officers were able to locate a man and woman matching the victim’s description near the crime scene. The couple, identified as Woodin and Rizzo, were arrested shortly thereafter.

In addition to the second-degree robbery charge, Woodin was also charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree illegal possession of a weapon. Woodin and Rizzo were both held pending their arraignment.
