Man suspected of killing woman in NYC attacked by angry mob

A crowd attacked a man arrested in connection with the murder of a New York woman whose body was discovered in a sleeping bag. According to The New York PostPolice have filed charges against Chad Irish, who played a role in the murder of Yazmeen Williams. Williams’ body was discovered in a sleeping bag in Kips Bay with a gunshot wound to the head after being left with garbage on the street.


be063cea=””>The 55-year-old suspect was charged with concealing a human corpse, illegal possession of a firearm and uttering threats. When police tried to pick him up for questioning, he was attacked by local residents as officers took him away on a stretcher on July 8 while they placed Irish in an ambulance.

The victim’s mother, Nicole Williams, had previously told the media outlet that she believed Yazmeen’s killer was a friend of hers who uses a wheelchair.

CBS News reported that police sources said surveillance cameras showed a man in a motorized wheelchair dragging the bag containing Williams’ body behind him.

Nicole said her daughter was starting a new job last Monday.

“She was so excited to live her life,” Nicole said. “She got her degree in criminal justice. She went to Buffalo State University and wanted to go back to be a lawyer.”

Yazmeen’s younger sister added: “She always took good care of me and was always proud of me. She was the best sister I could have and I love her so much. I just wish she could have stayed a little longer because I just wanted to grow up with her.”

More charges are expected to be filed against Irish. He is said to have been arrested more than 20 times and served two prison sentences for robbery and assault in the Bronx. He was reportedly out on parole after being released from prison two years ago.
