Adrian Wilson, former Cardinals star and Panthers manager, arrested for domestic violence

Former Carolina Panthers vice president of player personnel and Arizona Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson was arrested in the early morning hours of June 1 in Scottsdale, Arizona, on three counts of domestic violence, according to a Scottsdale police spokesman and court records.

The Panthers confirmed on Sunday that Wilson, 44, is no longer employed by the team, but declined to comment further.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on June 1, Wilson was arrested at his home and charged with assault, criminal damage and disturbing the peace, a Scottsdale police spokesman confirmed Tuesday. All three charges are misdemeanors. Wilson’s next court date is a case conference on July 16, according to online court records. Wilson did not immediately respond to a voice message left on his phone.

Wilson spent his entire 12-year NFL career with the Cardinals. He went to five Pro Bowls and was named All-Pro in 2009. He became the 15th member of the Cardinals Ring of Honor in 2015. He joined the Panthers in February 2023 after spending eight seasons in various roles with Arizona’s scouting department. He served as the Cardinals’ co-interim general manager at the end of the 2022 season after Steve Keim was placed on indefinite leave.

Wilson was born in High Point, North Carolina, where he played high school football before becoming a star at NC State. He was selected in the third round by the Cardinals in 2001.

When asked whether the Panthers knew about the arrest, a spokesman The athlete regarding the team’s first statement released on Sunday: “Adrian Wilson will not continue in his position as Vice President of Player Personnel for the Carolina Panthers. In accordance with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment.”
