Person found dead along NC 18 in Caldwell County

CALDWELL COUNTY, NC — A person was found dead along North Carolina 18 in Caldwell County on Tuesday, investigators said.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is investigating a death after the person was found on the side of the road. The Sheriff’s Office said it has identified the victim but is not releasing his name at this time.

The circumstances of the person’s death are still unclear. Investigators have not said whether they are looking for suspects in the case.
