Joe Bonsall, member of the Oak Ridge Boys, dies at the age of 76

HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee – A longtime member of the Oak Ridge Boys has died.

The band announced that tenor singer Joe Bonsall died on Tuesday from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He was 76 years old.

Bonsall and the Oak Ridge Boys released a statement in January announcing his withdrawal from the tour.

Bonsall was a member of the group for 50 years. He was a member of the Grand Ole Opry and was inducted into the Philadelphia Music Hall of Fame, the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame and the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame.

Bonsall is also the author of 11 books.
