Man arrested after stabbing at Tigard Transit Center

The man stabbed someone multiple times at the Tigard Transit Center before being arrested in Sherwood.

TIGARD, Oregon – A man accused of stabbing another person multiple times at the Tigard Transit Center was arrested Sunday, July 7, in Sherwood.

The suspect, 22-year-old Diego Armando Gonzalez-Hernandez, was taken to the Washington County Jail. He faces several charges, including first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, harassment and obstruction of report. Gonzalez-Hernandez also has an arrest warrant out for him.

According to Tigard police, two men, including Gonzalez-Hernandez, were arguing at the Tigard Transit Center on Southwest Commercial Street when Gonzalez-Hernandez pulled out a knife and stabbed the other man several times. Police said Gonzalez-Hernandez boarded a bus to Sherwood after the stabbing. He was arrested in Sherwood.

Officials said the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive. Police said they could not identify the victim at this time.

Assisting in this case were the Sherwood Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, TriMet, Oregon City Police Department and King City Police Department.
