Deputies: 1 injured, 1 arrested in shooting in Texas Township

TEXAS TOWNSHIP, Michigan (WOOD) – Authorities say one person was injured and another was arrested following a shooting Monday night near Kalamazoo.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Gooseberry Avenue and Tiger Lily Drive in Texas Township.


The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said it is believed to have started as an assault and property damage incident between two neighbors, with one of the men eventually shooting the other.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect is in custody and has been taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail, the sheriff’s office said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
