Fenton Alderman was arrested after being accused of public intimidation

FENTON, Louisiana (KPLC) – A Fenton Township councilman turned himself in and was arrested after being accused of public intimidation, according to Fenton police.

Deputy Police Chief Vernon O’Quinn says the arrest stemmed from a verbal altercation between Alderman Jessie Boese and an on-duty Fenton police officer on the evening of July 3. He says the officer felt threatened during the altercation because of Boese’s position as a council member.

O’Quinn also says that Boese verbally abused the officer in public, which he believes will not be tolerated.

Alderman Boese later turned himself in to the police department on an arrest warrant for:

  • Public intimidation
  • Disturbing the peace through loud and vulgar language in public

Fenton Police say this is an active investigation and will be turned over to the Jeff Davis District Attorney’s Office.
