CEO and daughter die in bizarre ‘Final Destination’ accident when bulldozer falls from tow truck and crushes car

A CEO and his daughter died in a bizarre accident involving their SUV.

Richard David Hendrickson and his daughter Sally from Utah were driving up Ogden Canyon in Weber County when the tragic accident occurred.

A tow truck with a bulldozer was traveling in the opposite direction.

As the vehicles drove by, the bulldozer fell from the bed of the tow truck directly onto their SUV.

The bulldozer tipped over onto its side and landed on the opposite lane. Both vehicle occupants were killed.

Hendrickson’s wife and two of her other children suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.

Hendrickson’s company Lifetime products has published a tribute to the late CEO following his tragic death.

It states: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our CEO and President, Richard David Hendrickson.

“This heartbreaking incident also claimed the life of one of his daughters, Sally.”

The statement continued: “Richard started as a welder and progressed through several levels of the company until his exceptional talents and skills led him to become President and CEO.

“He was one of my most loyal and valued friends and we will miss him very much. lifespan will not be the same without him. My love and deepest sympathy goes out to his dear family.”

The two deaths drew attention to a petition calling for restrictions on the types of vehicles allowed to use the road the couple were traveling on.

The petition describes the road as a “narrow, two-lane thoroughfare,” which could make it unsuitable for certain vehicles.

The petition states: “Ogden Canyon, the narrow, two-lane passageway that connects Ogden Valley to the city of Ogden, is a lifeline for many citizens in Weber County, Utah.

“Flanked by the Ogden River on one side and steep mountain cliffs on the other, this precarious infrastructure creates a nerve-wracking daily commute for families and young drivers traveling to school or other important destinations.”

It is further described that in certain parts of the canyon the shoulders are barely or not at all wide.

This means that some larger vehicles could pose a “significant risk” to the safety of other motorists using this stretch of road, the petition says.

At the time of writing, the petition had collected around 1,700 signatures.

He continued: “Let us stand together for the safety of our loved ones and the residents of Weber County.”

“Show your support for limiting vehicle types on Highway 39 and make daily commutes in our beautiful canyon much safer.”
