Recall alert: Ford Mustang 2022-2023

Ford has recalled 30,735 Mustang vehicles from the 2022 and 2023 model years because they can suddenly turn without driver intervention.

Ford told federal safety regulators that a secondary steering wheel torque sensor in the cars “may not be properly calibrated, which could cause the steering wheel to turn from side to side against the driver’s intent.” The secondary sensor only kicks in if the primary sensor “experiences a failure or defect.”

Ford says it is not aware of any accident or personal injury related to the problem. The problem occurred at a supplier’s factory.

To fix the problem, dealers update the power steering control module software.
