The Newport Police Department has provided the following arrest and incident logs from July 8, 2024, 7:00 a.m. to July 9, 2024, 7:00 a.m.

Monday, July 8

At 1:40 a.m., 22-year-old Finnian Small of Providence, Rhode Island, was cited by Officer Epstein for urinating, coughing, or defecating in public.

At 10:30 a.m., 52-year-old Dougald Manion, whose address was not released, was taken into custody by Officer Gonsalves. He was charged with domestic violence – prohibited cyberstalking and cyber harassment, domestic disturbance and simple assault.

At 1 p.m., Johnny Escobar, 24, of Middletown, Rhode Island, was arrested by Detective Walsh on charges of possession of firearms by certain persons, assault with intent to commit certain crimes, carrying a pistol without a license or permit, and shooting in a confined space.

At 4:55 p.m., Ian Collins, 43, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, was taken into custody by Officer Boghigian on six counts of credit card fraud.

Tuesday, July 9

At 3:33 a.m., Nelson Davila, age 34, of Newport, Rhode Island, was cited by Officer Coates for Driving on an Expired or No License (4th + Offense) and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs (1st Offense) – Blood Alcohol Content Unknown.
